02 / ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

A good system
starts with good design.

We design electrical systems for bespoke machines and automated production lines, from control panels to machine wiring diagrams. Component selection, electrical connections and detailed EPLAN documentation are tailored to the process and control requirements.

01 / THE TASK

Electrical design for control panels and machines

The existing documentation, process requirements and associated control system form the basis of the design. We select and incorporate PLCs, distributed I/O systems, power supplies, switching and protective devices, together with the required sensors, actuators and drive components.

01

Control panel design

Electrical design of control panels for bespoke machines and automated systems, including device selection, circuit design and panel layouts.

02

Electrical design for machines and production lines

Designing power, control and signal connections for machines, production stations and production lines, including connections for sensors, actuators and drives, and links between equipment.

03

Component selection and documentation

Selecting and specifying electrical and automation components to suit the task. Preparing EPLAN documentation to support installation, commissioning and maintenance.

02 / WORKING TOGETHER

From requirements
to implementation.

  1. 01

    Requirements review

Agreeing process and control requirements, reviewing initial drawings and defining system boundaries.

  2. 02

    System design

Defining control panels, PLCs, I/O and main power connections, and selecting components.

  3. 03

    Detailed design

Preparing schematics, layout drawings and wiring diagrams in EPLAN Electric P8.

  4. 04

    Review and coordination

Checking device data, connections, identifiers and cross-references; coordinating with other disciplines and installation contractors.

  5. 05

    Documentation and handover

Incorporating approved changes and handing over the final drawing package as agreed in advance.

03 / HANDOVER

Clear results.
Documented solutions.

We define the exact handover scope at the start of the project, tailored to the task.

We hand over the electrical drawings with the content and in the formats agreed in advance. Depending on the project, the package may include editable EPLAN project files, PDF schematics, control panel layouts, PLC I/O assignments, terminal and connection diagrams, and cable and device lists.

The documentation supports control panel manufacture, electrical installation of machines and production lines, commissioning, maintenance and later modifications. Where required, we also incorporate documented installation and commissioning changes into the drawings, based on the information available.

04 / INITIAL DISCUSSION

Let’s start with
the technical details.

  1. The equipment’s purpose and existing design documentation
  2. Details of the main electrical and automation components and the associated control system
  3. The customer’s engineering standards, required formats and schedule

05 / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Which design software do you use?

We use EPLAN Electric P8. We agree on the project version and required handover formats at the start.

Can you update existing documentation?

Yes. We also modify and extend existing EPLAN projects. We define the scope based on the available project files, the condition of the documentation and the planned changes.

Which formats do you deliver?

We deliver the documentation in the formats agreed in advance. Depending on the project requirements, this may include editable EPLAN project files, a PDF drawing package, and device, cable or terminal lists.

How does electrical design relate to PLC development?

The two disciplines are closely linked through I/O assignments, device connections and control functions. As we work in both electrical engineering and PLC development, we coordinate the documentation and control requirements during the design stage.
